Colton Haynes, Ethics, and Purported Porn Pics

If youʼre an actor / model and the people that youʼve paid for career management and advice tell you that the best way to put to bed questions about your love-life is to rewrite reality by threats, nasty-grams and other assorted tricks, immediately demand your money back from them. And spank them with it. Hard.

Colton Haynes, Ethics, and Purported Porn Pics

If you missed yesterdayʼs post– and with doorQ.com going into a server crash from all the attention it got — the quick recap is that a nasty (and silly) letter came my way from someone who either is or purports to be an attorney by the name of Bryan J. Freedman, which declared five year old modeling pics of
actor Colton Haynes kissing another guy to be “pornographic” and ordered them removed. It also ordered that nothing about said letter be quoted from, reproduced or mentioned by me in any way, or Iʼd be in deep doo-doo.

Obviously, I didnʼt see things that way.

In regards to the letter, Iʼve also been told that it most likely violates The California Bar Rules of Professional Conduct for Lawyers, specifically Rule #5-100 Threatening Criminal, Administrative, or Disciplinary Charges”. The rule says: (A) A member shall not threaten to present criminal, administrative, or disciplinary charges to obtain an advantage in a civil dispute. Iʼm not a lawyer, so I donʼt know if thatʼs actually the case. Iʼm hoping someone with more knowledge about California can fill me in.

Itʼs because of a such an ethical breach, coupled with the sheer outlandishness of the contents and in consideration of the comments and perspectives from some pretty smart people that Iʼve received over the last 24-hours, that Iʼm posting the whole letter here:

In retrospect, it wasnʼt enough to just quote from it. This kind of crap letter goes out far too often and people fold from doing the right thing from the fear spread by the numerous wrongs contained in things such as this. Read, know and tell your friends: letters like this arenʼt what they claim to be.

Lastly, if youʼre an actor / model and the people that youʼve paid for career management and advice tell you that the best way to put to bed questions about your love-life is to rewrite reality by threats, nasty-grams and other assorted tricks, immediately demand your money back from them.

And spank them with it. Hard.

Now, can I please get back to shamelessly promoting JUDAS KISS, the feature film I just produced, currently playing in film-festivals around the world and available for pre-order through Wolfe Video, at this link? Thanks.
